Most people outside of Lebanon had not heard of the Minister of Information George Kordahi but that has changed in a massive way due to a major diplomatic row that has broken out over comments he made before his appointment.
The former host of the Arab version of “who wants to be a millionaire” made comments criticizing the Saudi war in Yemen as being unjust and absurd and stating the fact that the Yemenis were “defending themselves … against an external aggression”, noting that “homes, villages, funerals and weddings were being bombed.”
Saudi Arabia, who is set to lose the critical Yemeni city of Ma’arib completely, in an attempt to look tough elsewhere, has ordered its Ambassador to leave Lebanon, gave the Lebanese Ambassador 48 hours to leave, and they have banned all imports from Lebanon. The Saudis were joined by the UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait in these actions against Lebanon. One should note that the Saudis and their pathetic allies don’t do this when other countries, who are a lot more powerful criticize their war crimes in Yemen.
Riyadh has said further measures are set to be taken against Lebanon over these comments Kordahi made before he became a Minister.
George Kordahi has refused to back down, stating, “I did not wrong anyone. I did not attack anyone. Why should I apologise?” he stated. “I stated my position with love as a human who feels Arab suffering.” He said as well his resignation, which is being sought by the Saudi, American, and “Israel” regimes and their proxies in Lebanon, is out of the question.
Hezbollah has called him a brave and noble man who is telling the truth about the Saudi war in Yemen and condemned the Gulf States for its melt down and interference in Lebanese internal affairs.
In Yemen, the legitimate government led by Ansarallah, has said if the Saudis follow through on the banning of Lebanese imports, then they will do the same with Saudi imports into Yemen.
The Saudis themselves said, it wouldn’t make a difference if George Kordahi resigned or not, the Foreign Minister Faisal Bin Farhan said “I think it’s important that the government in Lebanon or the Lebanese establishment forges a path forward that frees Lebanon from the current political construct, which reinforces the dominance of Hezbollah.”
The Gulf States and their media have of course been attacking George Kordahi for his comments but even the Western media also has. Its just importatnt to note, this war in Yemen that Saudi Arabia launched has turned into the worlds worst humanitarian crisis, child soldiers are used by the Saudis and their proxies, and the coalition they lead regularly bombs schools, buses, water treatment facilities, hospitals, and everything you can think of. They also have imposed a devastating blockade on the country using famine as a weapon against Yemen.
The Saudis won’t just give up their attempts at hegemony in the region along with their masters in “Israel” and the Globalist American Empire, but this will backfire on them. The attempts by people like the Prime Minister Najib Mikati to try to resolve the tensions have been in vein and ultimately when it comes to the reality of geopolitics, this will go down in history as an own goal for the Saudis, so in all honesty, this is a blessing by a really stupid enemy.
