On the face of it when we see the Taliban saying they are going to ban drugs, it should be met with skepticism, though while one should be skeptical, we should also hope that they hold true to their word.
“There will be no drug production, no drug smuggling. We saw today that our young people were on drugs near the walls; this was making me very, very sad that our youth are addicted,” said Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid. “Afghanistan will not be a country of cultivation of opium anymore… We will bring opium cultivation to zero again.”
If the Taliban ends up successfully banning opium in the country it would remove 80% of the current supply and it would be a massive victory for the whole world, especially Iran, Russia, European countries, the countries of Central Asia and the Indian sub continent.
The Western media has not been handling the end of the US occupation in Afghanistan well, they have been silent on the fact the Taliban executed the ISIS Khorasan chief Omar Khorasan. This comes in the backdrop of them saying oh ISIS and Al Qaeda are going to regroup in Afghanistan and this nonsense.
It was such a nonsensical claim that in 2020, the US Central Commander head General Frank McKenzie admitted the US was, actually helping the Taliban fight ISIS.
“Over the last several months in eastern Afghanistan, we’ve watched the Taliban compress and crush ISIS presence on the ground in southern Nangarhar province — and they’ve been very effective doing that,” McKenzie stated. “It was a bloody mess, but they did it. In fact, ISIS really now no longer holds ground in Nangarhar province.”
He then went on to admit the US was providing air support to the Taliban against ISIS: “There was very limited support from us – and I would characterize that as very limited support.”
These psychopaths want Afghanistan to be a failed state where Wahhabi terrorist groups run rampant around and carry out attacks that kill innocent people. They wanted the streets of Kabul to be filled with bloody dead bodies all over the streets, far worse than the Afghans falling off the airplanes, that we all saw.
However, the most unhinged reaction to the end of the US occupation of Afghanistan, has been in the British media, from the Independent.
They came out with an article called, “The Taliban plans to ban drugs in Afghanistan. That could change the world for the worse.”
The Independent blamed fentanyl on a heroin drought in Estonia when fentanyl comes from the People’s Republic of China and is allowed to flourish by the American regime.
Like good little neoliberals they are, the Independent went on about how muh GDP was hurt in Afghanistan, when the Taliban banned opium the last time they were in power. This is ridiculous for a couple of reasons, one, the not everything is about the GDP, but two, the Taliban sits on over a trillion dollars worth of rare earth minerals, which if accessed would bring far more money into Afghanistan than any poisonous drugs ever would.
When they say the drugs business won’t stop with a Taliban ban of opium, one should assume immediately, that the powers that be are planning to bring in something far worse than even fentanyl soon.
We will have to see if the Taliban holds true to their words but if they do, it will be a good thing for the whole of humanity and will devastate the money supply for the poison peddlers.
